Mrs. Lula Ellen Carroll Fauscette, age 97, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Sunday morning, May 3, 2026, at Murray Woods Health Care in Chatsworth, Georgia.

Lula was born August 29, 1928, in Gilmer County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Sam and Oma Rogers Layman. She was also preceded in death by her husband, George H. Carroll and John Fauscette, a daughter, Ellen Allmon, son, Robert Carroll, grandson, Rubin Woody, son-in-law, Ron Hughes, siblings, Lonnie Layman, Hillard Layman, Ola Boyer, Decca Smith, Ermil Layman, Kenneth Layman, Vivian Ridley and Seth Layman.

Lula always enjoyed attending church, sewing, making quilts, growing a vegetable garden, canning, and was particularly good at growing flowers. The family would like to thank everyone at Murray Woods Nursing Home for their care given the last four years. We will miss the many friendships made during this time.

She is survived by her children, Gerald (Tammy) Carroll, James Joel (JoAnn) Carroll, and Marcia Hughes all of Chatsworth, Ga; grandchildren, Dwight (Audrey) Carroll of Aiken, SC, Tina (Weldon) Crooke, Scott Farmer, Brandon (Melissa) Carroll, Kevin (Rachel Manis) Carroll, Caleb (Sabrina) Carroll, Stacey (Allan) Davenport, all of Chatsworth, GA, Latisha (Robert) Flesher of Gainesville, GA, and Amy (Chad) Murray of Cohutta, GA; twenty-two great-grandchildren, several great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lula Ellen Carroll Fauscette will be held Friday, May 8, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Shane Pierce and Reverend Ashley Parrott officiating. Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Brandon Carroll, Kevin Carroll, Caleb Carroll, Taylor Woody, Scott Farmer and Dwight Carroll .

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and after 10:00 a.m. Friday until the service hour.
