Obituary

Ms. Lucy Jane Sisson, better known as "Janie" to her family and friends, 71, of Chatsworth, Georgia departed this life Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

A daughter of the late Dudley and Mary Elliott, Janie was born December 31, 1945 in Ellijay, Georgia. Along with her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin "Jack" Sisson;

Janie was previously employed by Galaxy mills in the sample and shipping departments.

She is survived by her son, Charles Anthony "Tony" Sisson; daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Jerry Ash all of Chatsworth, Georgia; grandchildren, Xena Carrol and Gabrielle Etheridge; sisters and brother-in-law, Cora Mae and Thomas Payne of Ellijay, Georgia, and Betty Burgess of Jasper, Georgia; brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Sue Elliott of Hiwassee, Georgia, David and Katie Elliott, Benny and Virginia Elliott, and Bunk Elliott all of Ellijay, Georgia. Many more nieces, nephews, family and friends also survive.

Services to celebrate the life of Ms. Janie Sisson will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at 2:00 P.M. from the Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Jimmy Bowen and Reverend Jerry Davis officiating. Musical selections will be provided by Toby Westmoreland. Janie will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Jack, at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 from 12:00 Noon until the service hour.
