Mr. Louis Guy Fenton, age 95, of the Dawnville Community, departed this life Saturday evening, May 24, 2014 at his home. Louis was born May 26, 1918 in Palmyra, Illinois. Louis graduated high school in Ellensburg, Washington, and attended diesel engineering school in Los Angeles. He then joined the Army Air Corp in 1940 and proudly served his country for over twenty five years, and retired as a Master Sergeant in the Air Force in 1966. After his military service he worked for and retired from West Point Mills in Dalton, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Louise Foster Fenton and a son, Gary Fenton.
He is survived by his wife, Dortha Fenton of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Pat Fenton of Tunnel Hill, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Kathleen Bishop, Jeanette and Roy Davis all of Dalton, GA, Janice Carter of Ringgold, GA, Virginia Rayfield of Cleveland, TN; step-daughters and step-sons-in-law, Billie and David Belcher of Dalton, GA, Rebecca and Buddy Stone, John and Linda Brumlow all of Chatsworth, GA;
Grandchildren, Angie and Tom Linebaugh, Chris and Joy Fenton, Brent and Kylee Rayfield, Jennifer and Sgt. Eric Hooker; great-grandchildren, Erica Fenton, Courtney and Alexis Wyatt, Emery and Ethan Hooker, Jacob and Jonas Rayfield; step-grandchildren, Jonathan Bradley, Jennifer Bradley, Clark and Trudy Harris, Justin Stone, Stacy Stone, Jeremy and Tabatha Stone; step-great-grandchildren, Tesla, Tori and Blake Stone, Kaylee Stone; nine other great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Louis Guy Fenton will be held Tuesday morning, May 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with____officiating. Interment services will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
