Mrs. Lorine Holtzclaw, age 85, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Tuesday evening, August 23, 2016 at the local hospital. Lorine was born February 13, 1931 in Cleveland, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Amos Beacher and Maggie Henrietta Clark Melton. Lorine was a 1947 graduate of Rossville High School. She was a lifelong member of the Church of God of Prophecy and at the time of her passing was an active member at Central Community Church at Chatsworth, Georgia. She worked many years at Southern Bell as a telephone operator and supervisor trainer and also worked as a teacher's aide and substitute teacher for many years at Valley Point Elementary and Dug Gap Elementary.
She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband, Dorsey Holtzclaw, sister, Mildred Melton and brothers and sister-in-law, Wayland and Jodi Melton, Paris Melton, Bill Melton, and Marvin Melton.
She is survived by her son, Dayle Holtzclaw of Calhoun, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Barry Minish, Lyn and John Manzione; grandchildren, Jennifer Minish, Lori Minish and Ashley Manzione; special friends and in-laws to her daughters, Mildred Minish and Charles and Dolores Manzione all of Dalton, GA; sisters-in-law, Willa Mae Melton of Tampa, FL, and Frances Melton of Rossville, GA; several nieces and nephews.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lorine Holtzclaw will be held Friday, August 26, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Jack Wilkinson and her pastor, Reverend Edwin Puckett officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at United Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and after 2:30 p.m. Friday until the service hour.
