Mrs. Lois Nell Long Quarles, age 89, of Lafayette, Georgia, and formerly of Dalton, GA, departed this life Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at her residence. Lois was born August 6, 1924 in Gilmer County, GA, a daughter of the late Ben and Gertrude Fox Long. She was also preceded in death by her husband Paul C. Quarles, grandson, Bryan Richards, brothers, Shine, Herbert, Harrison, Benny, Paul and Frank Long, sisters, Jessie Gregory, Willie Hicks. She was a member of the Harmony Grove Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Mildred and Wylie Staten of Dalton, GA, Geneva Richards of Chatsworth, GA, Brenda Gail and Dallas Pell of Lafayette, GA; special niece, Brenda Cole of Dalton, GA; sister-in-law, Betty Long of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Angela Phillips, Skye Staten-Bishop, Shelly Hill, Susan Mitchell, Lee Pell; ten great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lois Nell Long Quarles will be held Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. from the Harmony Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Lamar Beason officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Michael Hill, Rodney Quarles, Eugene Quarles Jr., Charlie Cole, Drew Richards, Chris Quarles, Joseph Bishop and Paul Richards serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. on Friday.
