Miss Lois "Lolo" Gentry, age 73, of Dalton, Georgia, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and reunited with her family Thursday, December 31, 2015. Lolo was born August 16, 1942 in Cartersville, Georgia, the daughter of the late Jeff Wilburn and Lula Mae Popham Gentry. She was a lifelong member of The Church of God of The Union Assembly. Lolo was a kind and gentle person who loved and cherished her family deeply.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Alton and Donna Gentry; nieces and nephews, Denetra and Shane Sowder, Ashley and Wayne McBrayer, Ladane and Beatrice Gentry and Joel Gentry; great nieces and nephews, Devin Gentry, Andrew and Adam Sowder, Audrey, Maddox and Owen McBrayer; many special friends and church family.
Service to celebrate the life of Miss Lois "Lolo" Gentry will be held Sunday, January 3, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at The Church of God of The Union Assembly with Reverend Charlie Pratt and Reverend Pratt Hughes officiating. Music will be provided by Marcia Hughes and Mercy Call. She will be laid to rest at the West Hill Cemetery with Denny Gentry, Franklin Mallett, Herb Sowder, Dylan Gentry, Lane Hall and Lamar Kitchens serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 11:00 a.m. Sunday until the service hour.
