Ms. Lisa Jean Verner, age 59, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Monday evening, November 18, 2024, at Advent Redmond in Rome, Georgia, surrounded by her cherished family.
Born on March 30, 1965, in Chatsworth, Georgia. Lisa was the beloved daughter of the late Parks Donald "Bozo" Verner and Regina "Jean" Painter Verner. She was also preceded in death by her grandparents, Edgar and Mamie Coleman Painter and Horace and Nancy Self Verner.
She attended Murray County High School, Lisa loved cheering for the Georgia Bulldogs and spent many weekends immersed in the joy of college football. Her life revolved around her family, particularly her children and grandchildren, who were her greatest treasures. Known for her fiercely independent spirit, Lisa embraced life with strength, determination, and a little stubbornness.
Lisa leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through her surviving family: her son and daughter-in-law, Jeffery and Sharon Verner of Chatsworth, GA; her daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Kyle Bennett of Dalton, GA; and her adored grandchildren, Madison Verner, Aubree Verner, Haylee Walraven, Abbigail Eubanks, Leland Eubanks, Kyrsten Eubanks, Alex Bennett, and Joseph Bennett. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Chris Jaquay; brothers and sisters-in-law, Vent and Cheryl Verner, Harold and Rhonda Verner, all of Chatsworth, GA, and James and Sherry Verner of Dawnville, GA. Other loving family members include her aunts and uncle, Reba Chastain of Kentucky, Ann Morrow of Rocky Face, GA, and Mark and Anita Cross of Copper Hill, TN. She is remembered fondly by her special friend, Sandra Burger of Benton, TN, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will celebrate Lisa's beautiful life on Friday, November 22, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel, with her cousin, Reverend Chris Gibson, officiating. Visitation will be held at Ponders Melrose Chapel on Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., and again on Friday morning beginning at 9:00 a.m. until the service hour.
Lisa's independent spirit, deep love for her family, and steadfast devotion to her grandchildren will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
