Mrs. Linda Mulkey Stone, age 81, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, March 19, 2026, at a local hospital. She was born September 19, 1944 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late William Orval and Lila Ruth Byers Mulkey. She was also preceded in death by her husband Donald Stone, brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul Mulkey, Ben and Marie Mulkey, sister, Sue Redwine, Dorthy Grimes, niece Shannon Mulkey.

She is survived by her sons and daughter-in-law, Bradley and Rachel Stone of Sugar Valley, GA, Adam Stone of Woodstock, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Mark Barton of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Brianna and Gene Corbin, Cody Barton, Caitlin and Shawn Wofford, Max and Eli Stone, Nolan and Nora Stone; great grandchildren, Jaxon Corbin, Carlei Corbin, Aubrie Barton, Kynleigh Barton, Sophia Painter, Ben Wofford; brother and sisters-in-law, Jack and Diane Mulkey of Gainesville, GA, Cheryl Mulkey of Dalton, GA; brothers-in-law Robert Redwine and Whitey Grimes of Dalton, GA; sister-in-law, Mary Franes Stone of Dalton, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Linda Mulkey Stone will be held Monday March 23, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Charlie Hamm and Reverend Harold Weatherford officiating. Interment will follow in the Cove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Sunday.
