Mr. Leroy Andrew Defore 74 of Chatsworth, Georgia departed this life Wednesday September 5, 2018 at the Hamilton Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 21, 1944 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Erwin G. and Frances Parker Defore. He was also preceded in death by his brother, George "Sonny" Defore, brother-n-law, Chester Howard, sister-in-law, Deborah Defore.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Phyllis Ann Defore of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Rhonda Defore of Chatsworth, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Ronda and Kyle Shirley of Ft. Oglethorpe, GA; brothers, Gary Defore, David Defore of Dalton, GA, sister-in-law, Deborah Defore of Dalton, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys Howard, Becky and Gene Chance, Florence and Jerry Miller of Dalton, GA, Joann and Terry Goble of Calhoun, GA, Betty Sue and Richard Mathis of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Joshua and Whitney Shirley, Jessica and Chris Clayton, Brianna and Robert McDade, Andrew and Jasmine Shirley; great grandchildren, Aiden Shirley, Sawyer Clayton, Hunter Clayton; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Leroy Andrew Defore will be held Saturday September 8, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. Interment will follow in the Swamp Creek Cemetery with Rodney Defore, Kyle Shirley, Andrew Shirley, Joshua Shirley, Greg Defore, and Jason Mathis serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Friday.  In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the St Jude Children's Research Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
