Mr. Leon Romine, 89, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life on Tuesday evening, July 21, 2020 at his residence. Mr. Romine was born in Fairmount, Georgia, on April 29, 1931 in Canton, GA. He was a son of the late Ralph and Ethel Davis Romine. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Wanda Romine, brother, Roy Lee Romine, sister, Beatrice Pinyan.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Betty Jean Romine of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Bruce Mealer; grandsons, Bradley and Missy Mealer, Craig and Crystal Mealer; great grandchildren, Braxton, Luke, Owen, Ava and Ivy Mealer all of Fairmount, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Janice Davis of Canton, GA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Eugene and Alma Townsend of Macon, GA;

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Leon Romine will be on Saturday, July 25, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. at the Ponders Fairmount Chapel with Reverend Jerome Silvers officiating.  Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove Ryo Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bruce Mealer, Bradley Mealer, Craig Mealer, Braxton Mealer, Luke Mealer, Owen Mealer, and Ava Mealer will serve as pallbearers.

Due to the national health crisis, crowd limitations may be enforced, and social distancing is encouraged. For anyone attending services please wear a mask for the safety of everyone.
