Mrs. Leola F. Burchfield, age 90, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday January 12, 2015 at her home. Leola was born April 8, 1924 in Lafayette, Georgia, a daughter of the late Henry Thomas and Mary Alice Christian. She was also preceded in death by her son, Trammell Thomas Floyd, brother, Claude Massingill, sisters, Maude Massingill Talley, Wyama Massingill Burdette.

She is survived by her husband, James Lee Burchfield of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Joan Floyd and Larry Revelle of White, GA; son, Tommy Lee Burchfield of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Krista Floyd Vineyard, Matthew Goble, Michael Conner; great grandchildren, Samantha, Halle, Cordelia; nine nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Leola Burchfield will be held Friday January 16, 2015 at 4:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Randy Bunch and Reverend Bruce Beach officiating. Interment will follow in the Swamp Creek Cemetery with James Anderson, Faron Mitchell, Clyde Williams, Travis Weaver, David McWilliams and Daniel McWilliams serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Thursday.
