Mr. Larry Jack Powers, age 72, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his residence. He was born September 15, 1949 in Chatsworth, GA, a son of the late James Elmer and Irzinis Roberts Powers. He was retired from the United States Army and Navy after 23 years of service.

He is survived by the love of his life, Sandy Powers of the residence; children, Audra and Jerry Leopard, Jeremy and Laura Harmon; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Tim and Missy Powers, Schoni Curl, all of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Carter Harmon, Preston Harmon; three sisters, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Larry Jack Powers will be held Friday January 14, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Brian Branam officiating. Interment will follow in the Ponders Murray Memorial Gardens with American Legion Post 112 in charge of military honors. Tim Powers, Jerry Leopard, Aaron Curl, Justin Curl, Preston Harmon and Adrian Godfrey will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. on Friday.

The family will accept flowers or donations can be made to the Liberty Baptist Church Building Fund.
