Mr. Larry Ernest Mulkey age 66, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life Sunday April 26, 2015 at the Gordon Hospital. Larry was born January 22, 1949 in Calhoun, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Mulkey. Larry was a graduate of Fairmount High School. He served his country in the United States Army. He was retired from Lockheed. He was a member of the Pleasant Grove "Ryo" Baptist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of thirty five years, Donna Mulkey of the residence; mother, Lois Mulkey of Ranger, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Ruth Mulkey of Calhoun, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Kim and Josh Mulkey of Fairmount, GA, Brandy and Matthew Wooten of Ft. Payne, AL; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Donnie Nichols of Ranger, GA; grandchildren, Brett Jones, Bailey Smith, Bethany Mulkey, Branden Wooten, Hunter Mulkey, Caden Mulkey, Dakota Wooten; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Larry Ernest Mulkey will be held Wednesday April 29, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove "Ryo" Baptist Church with Reverend Harold Owens and Reverend Keith Gibson officiating. He will be laid to rest at the church cemetery with Kyle Young, Dale Fletcher, Joe Holder, Steve Gibson, Troy Chastain, Jerry Mauldin, Allen Morris and Bobo Young as pallbearers. Military graveside honors will be provided by the Dalton American Legion Post #112. The family will receive friends at the Ponders Fairmount Chapel from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
