Mrs. Lana Walls, age 75, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Monday, August 7, 2023, at her residence.

Lana was born February 4, 1948, in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Henry W. and Louise Roberts Wyrick.  She was also preceded in death by her husband of forty-seven years, Harlin E. Walls, who died April 3, 2016, her brothers, Alvin Kenneth Wyrick and James H. Wyrick, and a brother-in-law, Brad Smith.

Lana worked several years at the Department of Family and Children's Services, but her true job was being a "Mom" and "Grandmother" and a homemaker for her family.

She is survived by her daughter, Angie Griffin (Robert) of Dalton, GA; sons, Brian Walls (Melissa) and Michael Wayne Clark all of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren, Brandon Walls, Caden Walls, Bridgett Swafford, Telisha Stephenson (Brian), Kaycee Kendrick and Kaylee Norman; great-grandchildren, Rayna Griffin, Brylee Swafford, Carter Swafford, Jasyn Mathis, Vaydah Stephenson, and Damian O'Campo; sisters, Rita Wessel (Roger) of Loudon, TN, Rhonda Smith and Carolyn Smith both of Dalton, GA; best friend, Joann Moss of Calhoun, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Lana Walls will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, August 10, 2023 at the Celebration Mausoleum at Ponders Whitfield Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum with Reverend Edwin Puckett officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, with Caden Walls, Brandon Walls, Brian Stephenson, Roger Wessel, Dewayne Martin and Robert Griffin honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 4:00 p.m. Thursday until the service hour.
