Obituary

Ms. Kerry Michelle Csehil, age 50, of Bowman, Georgia, formerly of Cleveland, Tennessee, departed this life on Friday morning, February 6, 2026.

Kerry was born June 12, 1975, in Cleveland, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Abern and JoAnn Frye Cross.

Kerry lived life in a way that was unmistakably her own — bold, spirited, and never afraid of the road ahead. She earned her associate degree from Everest College in San Antonio, Texas. Over the years, she worked faithfully as a school bus driver for the Whitfield County School System and later spent fourteen years as a long-haul truck driver with Lisa Motor Lines of Fort Worth, Texas. Her work took her across all forty-eight states, and she loved every mile of it. Kerry truly had a traveler's soul.

She attended The Pointe Church in Toccoa, Georgia.

Those who knew Kerry best would tell you she had a heart of gold — and a personality just as strong. She could be hard-headed, stubborn, and a true wild child, but she loved fiercely and lived fully. Kerry was adventurous, free-spirited, and always chasing the next destination, the next experience, and the next story to tell. She was a good person, not without her faults, but always real — and always unforgettable.

She is survived by her fiancée, Robert Eugene Smith of Bowman, GA; her children, Matthew Alexander and Brenda Lynn of Dalton, GA, Kaitlyn E. Csehil "Kat" and Jayden Hebert of San Antonio, TX, and Brittany Lynn-Todd and Jacob Todd of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Grayson Scoggins, Zane Scoggins, Novalise Lynn and one on the way in August or September; sisters, Gina and Robbie Vaughn, Christina and Rodney Pierce all of Cleveland, TN; her fiancée's children, Jessica Smith of Hogansville, GA, and Ashley Smith of LaGrange, GA; grandchildren, Erica Smith, Shaun Smith and Alister Smith; niece and nephew, Jordan and Troy Tant, Brian Pierce; great-nieces, Alayna Henley, and Kinslee Tant all of Cleveland, TN; uncle, Richard Frye of Blue Ridge, GA; aunt, Bea Carver of Cleveland, TN; best friend, Cheryl Copeland of Bradenton, FL; several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arrangements are entrusted to Ponders Melrose Chapel, 138 Melrose Drive, Dalton, Georgia 30721.
