Mr. Kenneth Earl Postell, age 75, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday morning, May 15, 2013. Kenneth was born February 17, 1938 in Mineral Bluff, Georgia, a son of the late Christopher Columbus "Mack" and Florence Turner Postell. Kenneth was also preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-six years, Betty Ann Westmoreland Postell, July 7, 2006 and a grandson, Steve Kenneth Postell, Jr, November 18, 2005, his brothers, J.T. Postell and Will Postell, and a sister, Rethel Vivian.
Kenneth proudly served his country in the Army Airborne. He attended Dalton College on the GI bill where he received his certification in Diesel Mechanics. He was retired from Mohawk Industries where he worked for over thirty plus years. Kenneth was a Ford Man, an avid outdoorsman and loved to restore old cars and was most proud of his two 1968 Mustangs. He was a hard worker and loved his family very deeply.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Jeff Postell, Stevie Postell and Missy Morris; daughters, Theresa Vick, Linda and Bryan Penland; grandchildren, Sonya and Matt Peeples, Tiffany and Jason Leitch, Amber Postell, Zachary Penland, Ethan Penland, Jessica Vick, Christian Morris and Molly Morris; great-granddaughter, Michelle Peeples; brother and sisters-in-law, Max and Margie Postell, Yvonne Postell; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Jo and Joe Henderson; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Larry and Mary Ann Westmoreland, Clay and Juanita Westmoreland; special friends, Richard Owenby, Russell Owenby and Charles Pierce; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Kenneth Earl Postell will be held Saturday morning, May 18, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel; with Dr. Danny Cochran and Reverend David Richardson officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife and grandson at Holly Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Murray County, Georgia, with Ethan Penland, Zach Penland, Christian Morris, Scotty Westmoreland, Russell Owenby, Richard Owenby and Matt Peeples serving as pallbearers.The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
