Mrs. Katrina Leigh Brendel, age 39, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life Monday afternoon, January 4, 2021 at her home.  Katrina was born October 24, 1981 in Dekalb County, Georgia.  She was preceded in death by her mother, Vickie Leigh Buice Eckert.

She is survived by her husband, Matthew Brendel; daughter, Mattia Leighann Brendel; sons, Matthew Luke Brendel and Zachary Clyde Brendel all of Fairmount, GA; step-daughter, Brittany Roe of Tampa, FL; father and step-mother, Steven and Fay Jordan of Kingston, GA; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Hillard and Margaret Brendel of Fairmount, GA; sisters, Christina and Johnathon Hanes of Panama City Beach, FL, Robin Eckert of Kingston, GA, and Mary  and Joe Holewinski of Douglasville, GA; grandmother, Kay Cole; brothers, Jeffery and Heather Jordan of Savannah, GA, and Phillip and Kayla Jordan of Gainesville, GA; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Katrina Leigh Brendel will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Fairmount Chapel with Reverend Tony Boyd, Pastor of First Christian Church of Jasper, Georgia, officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her grandmother at Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery in Ludville, Georgia, with Jeffery Jordan, Phillip Jordan, Ian Denny, Noah Bunch, Michael Moulder and Brian Brendel honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Fairmount Chapel, 2566 Hwy. 411, Fairmount, GA, 30139, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 12:00 p.m. Noon Tuesday until the service hour.

Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
