Mrs. Katheryn Tate McMahan, age 86, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, November 7, 2020 the Ridgewood Manor in Dalton, Georgia.
Katheryn was born June 28, 1934 in Dalton, Georgia, a daughter of the late Paul Glenn and Ruby Hendricks Tate. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband of forty-four years, Hoyt Doss McMahan who died October 21, 2011, and her sisters, Mildred Tate Smith Allen who died April 5, 2020 and Brenda Tate and a brother, Harold Tate, her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Doss Alfred and Ruby Jameson McMahan.
Katheryn was an accountant and bookkeeper and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Frances Tate of Cohutta, GA; nieces and nephews, Linda and Jimmie White of Panama City, FL, Glenda and Alex Casteel of Canton, GA, Kendall and Jennifer Tate of Cohutta, GA, Glen and Tonja Tate of Dalton, GA; great-nephews and great-nieces, James Michael White of Panama City, FL, Derek and Kathy Bell of Ringgold, GA, and Daryl and Starlit Bell of Chatsworth, GA, Alicia and Russell Mapp of Dallas, GA, Andrea Casteel, Angela and Brendon Hagen all of Canton, GA Chandler and Louise Tate, Jacob Tate, Jared and Christian Tate, Valerie Tate and Aurelio Diaz, Katie Beth Tate of Dalton, GA; loyal friend, Susan Castle of Chattanooga, TN.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Katheryn Tate McMahan will be held Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Cohutta, Georgia.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday November 11, 2020.
Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
