Mrs. Judy Ann Swinney, age 63, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the local hospital. Judy was born March 10, 1950 in Dalton, Georgia, daughter of the late Henry and Anna Belle Henson. Judy was a 1970 graduate of North Whitfield High School and obtained her Associate Degree in Secretarial Science from Dalton College. Judy worked as a clerk for the Whitfield County Superior Court. Judy attended the Good Hope Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of forty years, Glenn Swinney; daughter, Kim Swinney; grandson, Brayden Swinney; brothers, Charles Henson all of Dalton, GA, Henry Lamar Henson of Oklahoma; many special friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Judy Ann Swinney will be held Wednesday January 15, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Mike Douglas and Pastor Stacy Hensley officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Whitfield Memorial Garden with Rick Pippin, Israel Pippin, Richard Brock, Larry Thomas, Allen Gann and Kevin Caylor serving as pallbearers. Clerks of the Whitfield County Superior Court will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 1:00 p.m. Wednesday until the service hour.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to an educational trust that has been established for her grandson, Brayden Swinney at Brayden Swinney Education Trust, P.O. Box 1781 Dalton, GA, 30722.
