Mrs. Judith Rivera-Negron, age 87, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday evening, November 17, 2022, at AdventHealth Gordon in Calhoun, Georgia.

Judith was born August 9, 1935, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, a daughter of the late Aldofo Rivera and Maria Negron.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gilberto Torres Vazquez who died December 8, 2007.  She was a housewife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend to all. Her life was dedicated to serving her family and her savior.  She was a member of Iglesia Bautista Nueva Vida.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Maria and Martin Martinez of New Jersey, Rosa and Aurelio Pacheco, Nereida Torres and Miguel Montalvo all of Dalton, GA, Nancy Torres and Jose Negron of Puerto Rico; son and daughter-in-law, Gilberto Torres and Madeline Gonzales of Dalton, GA; sisters, Ida Rivera, Olga Rivera, Norma Rivera all of Puerto Rico; brothers, Aldopho Rivera, Hermerejildo Rivera, Angel Rivera, Oscar Rivera and Carlos Rivera all of Puerto Rico; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Judith Rivera-Negron will be held Tuesday morning, November 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with her pastor, Reverend Ernesto Mendez officiating.  She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Ponders Colonial Hills Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum, with her son and grandsons honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday until the service hour.
