Mrs. Joyce Ann Pettit, age 65, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday evening, August 19, 2015 at Hutchinson Medical Center in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia. Joyce was born August 8, 1950 in Dalton, Georgia, the daughter of the late, John Henry and Annie Lu Smith Earnest. Joyce was also preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Larry Pettit. Joyce was a 1968 graduate of Dalton High School. She was the owner of Pathway Advertising. Joyce attended the Eleventh Avenue Baptist Church. Joyce loved her cocker spaniels especially, Freddie.
She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Kent and Huyen Earnest of Dalton, Georgia; several aunts, uncles, many cousins and numerous friends.
Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Joyce Ann Pettit will be held Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Ronald Guffey officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel after 1:00 p.m. Saturday until the service hour.
