Obituary

Mr. Joshua Terry “Josh” Ray, age 39, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Josh was born on February 28, 1987, in Dalton, Georgia. He was a 2005 graduate of Dogwood Christian Academy. He was employed by Lowe’s for many years and was currently serving as a Fiber Optics Technician and Project Manager with Federal Fiber Company.

Josh was a quiet and intelligent man whose life was firmly rooted in his faith and devotion to his Savior, Jesus Christ. He faithfully lived out his Christian values through his love, integrity, and dedication to those around him. Above all else, Josh cherished his family. He took great pride in being a provider, working diligently to ensure his family was cared for and supported. One of his greatest blessings was being able to provide for his wife, Meagan, as she stayed home to homeschool their son, Anderson.

A devoted husband, loving father, faithful son, and caring brother, Josh’s life was marked by selflessness, kindness, and unwavering commitment to those he loved. He found joy in spending time with his family and investing in the lives of those closest to him. His gentle spirit, genuine heart, and steadfast faith left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. Josh was deeply loved and respected by family, friends, coworkers, and all whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Meagan Ray; son, Anderson David Ray, both of the residence; parents, Terry and Tena Ray of Tunnel Hill, Georgia; in-laws, Connie Franks and Mark Lindsey, and Mark and Kim Eller, Sr., of Chickamauga, Georgia; grandmother, Charlotte Ray of Tunnel Hill, Georgia; sister, April and Derick Root of Memphis, Tennessee; brother, Anthony and Ashley Ray of Ringgold, Georgia; and many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.
