Mr. Joseph Marlin Quarles Sr., 64, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday morning, August 16, 2018 at his residence. He was born June 6, 1954 in Atlanta, GA, a son of the late Melvin Cecil and Bertha Jean Curbow Quarles. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Sharon May. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Joseph Quarles Jr. and Rosalia Vasquez-Quarles of Dalton, GA, Elijah Davis of Rocky Face, GA, Joseph Cambell of Utah; daughters, Laurie Slone of Dalton, GA, Amanda Slone of Dayton, OH, Lindsay Cambell of Austin TX; sister and brother-in-law, Sarah and Frank Sheffield of Tennille, GA; grandchildren, Dawn Thomas, Maria Thomas, Tony Register, Wyatt Register, Jeremiah Register; great grandchild, Peyton; several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Joseph Marlin Quarles Sr. will be held Tuesday August 21, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. from the Chattanooga National Cemetery with the American Legion Post 112 in charge if military rites.
