Mr. Joseph Lynn Phelps, age 66 of Dalton, Ga, departed this life, Thursday June 4, 2015 at the local hospital. Joseph was born on June 1, 1949 in Bowling Green, KY, he was the son of the late Sherman and Donnie Phelps. He was also proceeded in death by sisters, Mable Jane Tracey and Molly Phelps. Mr. Joseph Lynn Phelps was a proud veteran of the United States Navy and worked as a fireman while enlisted.

Mr. Joseph Lynn Phelps is survived by his wife of 45 years, Linda Phelps, daughters, Laura Phelps of Dalton, Amy and Jason Carter of Chatsworth, GA., brothers, Ronell and Wilda Alford of Bowling Green, KY, sisters, Caroline Owens of Las Vegas, NV, Norman Frances Wilson of Louisville, KY, grandchildren, Amber Phelps, Brianna Carter, Hallie Carter and Destini Carter.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Joseph Lynn Phelps will be held Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend June Parker. He will be laid to rest at the Chattanooga National Cemetery, with military honors provided by American Legion Post 112 of Dalton, GA.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Tuesday.
