Joseph “LeGrand” Norton, age 68, of Crandall, Georgia, passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, August 8, 2026.

LeGrand was born on July 23, 1958, to the late Blease and Minnie Bell Norton. He accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and was baptized by Pastor Chad Bryan of Dewberry Baptist Church.

LeGrand was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was blessed to spend his final days in retirement at T.K. Ranch, surrounded by his loving wife and family. The ranch was dedicated in memory of his beloved grandchildren, Kristen “Anna” and Tommy Nickels, who passed away on July 29, 2020.

LeGrand was an avid fisherman and especially enjoyed riding his golf cart around the ranch helping with the horses. More than anything, he cherished the time spent with his family and loved his grandchildren “more than life itself.”

He was preceded in death by his beloved grandchildren, Kristen “Anna” and Tommy Nickels; his parents, Blease and Minnie Bell Norton; brothers, James and Robbie Norton; sisters, Betty Gause and Evelyn Strickland; father-in-law, Joel Ervin Lamb Sr.; and brother-in-law, Joel Ervin Lamb Jr.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Sandra Lynn “Lamb” Norton, whom he cherished and loved dearly; son, Bryan Ervin and Melody Norton of Chatsworth; daughter, Stephanie Ann and Mitchell Duke of Crandall; brothers, John and Pat Norton of Darlington, South Carolina, and Jesse and Kathy Norton of Florence, South Carolina; sisters, Janice Powell of Florence, South Carolina, and Christine Brumette of Florence, South Carolina; grandchildren, Kayla Michelle and Andrew Hodge and Christian Duke and Ash Duke, Jayden, Laura, Caleb, Tara, and Cheyann Norton; great-grandchild, Miles Joel Clark Hodge; sisters-in-law, Sonya Lamb Williamson and Susan Lamb Deas; mother-in-law, Betty Lamb White; and brother-in-law, Joseph Lamb.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank-you to a very special friend and nurse, Debi Kelly, for her kindness, care, and compassion.

Funeral services for LeGrand Norton will be held at 3:00 P.M. Monday, August 10, 2026, at Ponders Melrose Chapel, with Pastor Chad Bryan officiating. Visitation will be held at the chapel the same day from 12:00 P.M. until the service hour.

Interment will follow at West Hill Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Christian Duke, Jayden Busie, Stacy Thrasher, Caleb Norton, Andrew Hodge, and Douglas Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin Grace, Ryan Hodge, and Josh Inabinet.

LeGrand will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His love for his family, his faith in the Lord, and the memories he created with those closest to him will live on in their hearts forever.
