Mr. Jose M. Acosta, age 82, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, June 18, 2014 at the Erlanger Health Care in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Jose was born March 1, 1932 in Mexico, a son of the late Guadalope Acosta and Rosa Mendez. He was retired from Shaw Industries Plant 20 where he worked for over twenty five years. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty five years, Elva De Acosta of the residence; sons and daughter-in-law, Alonso Acosta of Cleveland, TN, Jose and Sarah Acosta of Dalton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Enedina Acosta, Martha and Manuel Lopez of Dalton, GA, Rosa Acosta and Silvester Martinez of Dalton, GA, Elva Acosta and Giancarlo Paggi of Atlanta, GA; Silvia Acosta of Dalton, GA; brothers, Jose Acosta, Victoriano Acosta, Guillermo Acosta; sisters, Antonia Acosta, Cuca Acosta all of Mexico; twenty two grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Jose M. Acosta will be held Saturday June 21, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. from the St. Joseph's Catholic Church with Father Juan De La Cruz officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitfield Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday.
