IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jonathan Bethel
Woodward
May 23, 1980 – August 1, 2025
Mr. Jonathan Bethel Woodward, age 45, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life on Friday, August 1, 2025, at his residence.
Jonathan was born May 23, 1980, in Dalton, Georgia. He was the beloved youngest child of his mother, Patsy Townsend Woodward Bryant, with whom he shared a uniquely deep and cherished bond. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Eugene Woodward; his grandparents, George Barton and Minnie Holt Woodward, and Otis "Ode" and Wyolene Holder Townsend; his only brother, Cayce Eugene Woodward; niece, Jessica Brooke Woodward; his dear uncle, Wayne Townsend, whom Jonathan lovingly cared for prior to his passing; and aunts Lavern Townsend and Elaine Ivey.
Jonathan was a graduate of Gordon Central and attended Georgia Military College in Valdosta, Georgia. He worked for J.M. Huber Company as a mill operator and many years at Carmeuse Lime and Stone, where he served as a purchasing agent. A man of deep faith, he was a member of Salacoa Baptist Church in Cherokee County and attended the City of Refuge Church in Calhoun.
Jonathan had a giving heart and found immense joy in bringing people together. He was a devoted friend, known for his big heart and generous spirit. His circle of family and friends was precious to him, and he found great happiness in their company. He also had a passion for the open road and enjoyed the freedom of riding his Harley Davidson Sportster, which brought him peace and joy.
He is survived by his loving mother, Patsy Townsend Woodward Bryant, and stepfather, Eddie Bryant of Fairmount, GA; uncles Randall Townsend of Fairmount, GA, and Burney Ivey of Bethlehem, GA; aunt Arlene Kittle of Ranger, GA; special friend Aaron O'Shields of Calhoun, GA; a sister-in-law, Tina Faber of Jasper, GA; his loyal service bulldog, Marcus; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
