Mr. Johnny Barry Flanagan Sr., age 53, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life Friday, April 25, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 19, 1960 in Gainesville, Georgia a son to the late Ray Flanagan. He is also preceded in death by a brother Eddie Flanagan.

Johnny is survived by his wife Cindy Flanagan, a son and daughter in law Johnny and Angie Flanagan Jr of Calhoun, GA, daughters; Heather Flanagan of Roanoke, VA, Chelsey and Courtney Flanagan both of Lula, GA, Shayla Mulkey of Cartersville, GA. He is also survived by his mother Nancy Sullens Barlow, brothers and sisters in law; Mike and Kathy Flanagan of Rockmart, GA Louie and Wanda Flanagan of Social Circle, GA, Bradley and Linda Flanagan of Gainesville, GA, a sister and brother in law, Brenda and Billy Joy of Gainesville, GA. Johnny had two grandchildren, Kyle Flanagan and a great granddaughter Emma Flanagan, and close friend Penny Flanagan as well as several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Johnny Flanagan Sr. will be held Monday April 28, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Calhoun Chapel of Ponders Funeral Home with Reverend Jason Flanagan officiating. He will be laid to rest at the Sugar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Gainesville, GA on 3:00 PM on Monday with Kyle Flanagan, Johnny Flanagan JR., Todd Flanagan, Mike Flanagan, Jason Flanagan, and Bradley Flanagan serving as pall bearers. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
