Mr. Johnny Oscar Carroll, age 70, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday morning, May 11, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Johnny was born September 2, 1943 in Ellijay, Georgia, a son of the late Roy Frank and Bertha Mae Starks Carroll. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Irene Lofty, Helen Blackwell and Gladys Holland and a brother, L.T. Carroll.

He is survived by his loving wife, Kathryn Ray Carroll and would have celebrated their fifty-forth wedding anniversary, October 24, 2014; son, Johnny F. Carroll; daughters, Angela R. Bartlett and Renee Buckner all of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Nicole Carroll, Michelle and Sean Sammons, Emily Bartlett, Ashley and John Kinser, Chad and Melanie Bartlett, Katy Buckner, Alex Carroll, Audrey Carroll and Brett Buckner; six great-grandchildren; brother, David Ellis of Ellijay, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Johnny Oscar Carroll will be held Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Danny Cochran officiating. He will be laid to rest at Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery with John Kinser, Sean Sammons, Jody Buckner, Alex Carroll, Brett Buckner and Chad Bartlett serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour.
