Mr. Johnny Ballew, age 64, of Calhoun, Georgia, departed this life peacefully on Friday, February 6, 2026, at his home.

Johnny was born on March 9, 1961, in Marietta, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Johnny Summey, and his sister-in-law, Jeannette Rich.

Johnny was a hardworking and dedicated man who was employed with Shaw Industries for 27 years. He was also known for his kind and caring heart and would do anything for anyone. Johnny was a proud and faithful Georgia Bulldogs fan—perhaps the biggest there ever was—and he truly enjoyed attending Boone Ford Baptist Church.

Johnny is survived by his devoted wife, Mildred Groomes Ballew, whom he loved dearly. He is also survived by his brothers, David Ballew of Marietta, Georgia, and Rick Ballew of Arizona; and his sister, Barbara Marcengil of South Carolina.

Additional survivors include his brothers-in-law, Floyd and Darlene Groomes of Calhoun, Georgia, Jeff and Robbie Groomes of Calhoun, Georgia; Glen and Trisha Groomes of Adairsville, Georgia and Tony Groomes of Alapaha, Georgia; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Summey of Alapaha, Georgia, and Darlene Young of Calhoun, Georgia.
