Mr. John Timothy Townsend, age 52, of Chatsworth, Georgia, departed this life Friday, December 30, 2016 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. John was born, November 12, 1964 in Jacksonville, FL, the son of the late Martha Driggers Townsend. John enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his family.

Mr. John Timothy Townsend is survived by his wife, Donna Townsend of the residence; children, Timothy Townsend of Chatsworth, GA, John Townsend of Cohutta, GA, Sabrina Townsend and her partner, Laura Amyx of Chatsworth; father, Grady Townsend of Dawnville, GA; brothers, Ronald Townsend of Chatsworth, GA, Randel Townsend and Daron Townsend, both of Dalton, GA; sister, Ingrid Mithchell of Chatsworth, GA and Lena and Michael beck of Chatsworth, GA; five grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

The service to celebrate the life of Mr. John Timothy Townsend will be held, Monday, January 2, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at Beaverdale House of Prayer, with Pastor William Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Cohutta Hills Community Church with John Townsend, Timothy Townsend, Michael Beck, Donald Malone, Jonathan Hawkins and Michael Hamby serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 a.m. until the service hour at Beaverdale House of Prayer.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made towards the funeral expenses.
