Mr. John A. Satterfield, age 80, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday morning, June 20, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. John was born August 17, 1933 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Claude and Mary Sue Brock Satterfield. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Thelma "Sis" Davis and Doris Middlebrooks and brothers, Paul and Cecil Satterfield.

John proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and was retired from Shaw Industries where he worked as a truck driver and dispatcher.

He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years, Dartha "Dot" Gibson Satterfield of the residence; daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Rick Sterchi of Glen Allen, VA; sons and daughters-in-law, Kenny and Robin Satterfield of Dalton, GA, Kirk and Libby Satterfield of Cohutta, GA, Kim and Karen Satterfield of Calhoun, GA; grandchildren, Wil Sterchi of Jonesboro, TN, Race Sterchi of Glen Allen, VA, Jay Satterfield of Charleston, SC, Molly Satterfield of Dalton, GA, Mason, Heath Drew and Thomas Satterfield all of Cohutta, GA, Katie Satterfield of Dalton, GA, Madison Miller, Wyatt and Kolbie Fuller all of Calhoun, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and June Satterfield, W.L. "Bud" and Betty Satterfield, Louise Satterfield all of Dalton, GA; several nieces, nephews and many cousins.

The family will have a memorial service at a later date to be announced.
