Mr. John David "Johnny" Cowart, age 71 of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Sunday April 28, 2019 at the local hospital. He was born February 6, 1948 in Cartersville, GA, a son of the late U.Z. and Mary Frances Cowart. He was also preceded in death by his son, Johnny Lamar Cowart, grandchildren, Chyna and Michael Noblett, brother, Clyde Cowart, nieces, Linda and Kathy Cowart, mother-in-law and father-in-law, Anna Roslinda and Andrew J. Brown, brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Shirley Hale He was a member of Valley Brook Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Shelia Brown Cowart of the residence; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry and Laura Cowart of Alpharetta, GA; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer and Jamey Noblett of Bethlehem, GA, Whitney Cowart of Dalton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, James and Dianne Cowart of Chatsworth, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Ann and Walter Carroll of Tunnel Hill, GA, Ellen and Sam Jones of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Jakob Cowart, Hunter Noblett, Christian Noblett; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, AJ and Gail Brown, Michael and Teresa Brown of Dalton, GA, Donna Sue Allgood of Marietta, GA, Patsy Givins of Jonesboro, GA; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. John David "Johnny" Cowart will be held Wednesday May 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Junior Clayton officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday
