Mr. John Buchanan Hixson, age 90, of Villa Rica, Georgia, departed this life Friday, June 5, 2026, at the Tanner Medical Center in Villa Rica, Georgia. He was born June 20, 1935 in Kensington, Georgia, a son of the late James Thomas and Julia Dixon Hixson. He was also preceded in death by his wife Ruth Evelyn Hixson, brother George Hixson Sr. two sisters, great granddaughter Maria McElreath, son-in-law Darrell Cline.

He is survived by his daughter, Bonnie Cline of Villa Rica, GA; grandson, Elmer McElreath III and his wife Maria of Marietta, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. John Buchanan Hixson will be held Wednesday June 10, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Interment will follow in the United Memorial Gardens. Top of Form
