Mr. John "Treen" Coffey, age 80, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, June 28, 2023 at his residence. He was born March 19, 1943 in Dalton, Georgia a son of the late John Steed  and Juanita Parson Coffey. He was preceded in death by his loving wife Edna Erlene "Jody" Coffey. Treen was a 1960 graduate of Westside High School. Treen served as Fire Chief of the Dalton Fire Department and served 34 years with the department.

He is survived by daughter, Treenia Brown of Rocky Face, GA; grandchildren, Matthew and Kristin Brown of Dallas, GA, Randi and Mason Allen of Dalton, GA, Brittney and Ethan Cronan of Resaca, GA; great grandchildren, Oakley Allen, Maisley Allen, Remi Cronan; sisters, Phyllis Pfuntner, Pam and Ronnie Stephens of Dalton, GA; nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. John "Treen" Coffey will be held Sunday July 2, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Barry Grider officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the West Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
