Mr. John Travis Awtrey, age 31, of Fairmount, Georgia, departed this life Monday, July 4, 2016 from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident. Travis was born July 9, 1984 in Marietta, Georgia. He was a member of the Fairmount Church of Christ and was employed at Millar Electric in Smyrna, Georgia.

He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Awtrey; daughters, Kaylee, Gracie and Whitley Awtrey; parents, Robert (Buddy) and Patricia (Trish) Awtrey all of Fairmount, GA; sister, Sonia Hauger of Canton, GA; brothers, Paul Awtrey of Hiram, GA, Curtis Awtrey, Robert V. Awtrey both of Smyrna, GA, James C. Awtrey of Fairmount, GA, Jack Tritt of Marietta, GA; uncle, Johnny Greene of Smyrna, GA; special nephew, Scott Awtrey of Smyrna, GA; best friend, Tony Hughes of Fairmount, GA; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. John Travis Awtrey will be held Thursday morning, July 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Ponders Fairmount Chapel with Minister Charles Bonham officiating. He will be laid to rest at Johnson Cemetery in Fairmount, Georgia, with his close friends and family serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Fairmount Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning until the service hour.
