Joanie L. Butts, age 72, of Tunnel Hill, Georgia, departed this life Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at the local hospital surrounded by her loving family. Joanie was born May 18, 1944 in Dalton, GA, a daughter of the late Jim and Violet Price. She was also preceded in death by her son, David Butts, brother, Randy Price, sister, Phyllis Taylor.

She is survived by Dave Butts; children, Denita Dickson of Middleburg, FL, Vada and Salomon Romero of Henderson, NV, Rhonda Darrah of Tunnel Hill, GA, Richard and Julie Butts of San Diego, CA, Austin Taylor of Tunnel Hill, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug and Judy Price of Tunnel Hill, GA, Gary Price and Bernice Cash of Rocky Face, GA, Danny and Kathy Price of Davie, Florida; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Ritch Lafayette of Rocky Face, GA; sixteen grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Joanie L. Butts will be held Friday December 23, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Brother George Cross officiating. Interment will follow in the West Hill Cemetery with Austin Taylor, Lance Dickson, Joshua Romero, Mitchell Romero, Jimmy Price, Dominick Lafayette and Danny Darrah serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
