Mrs. Jo Ann Self, age 79, of Dalton, Georgia departed this life, Wednesday May 17, 2017 at the local hospital. Jo Ann was born September 12, 1937 in Murray County, GA. She was the daughter of the late William Thomas Conner and Ethel Stout Conner. She was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Allen Self; brothers, Boyd Stout, John Roy Conner. She enjoyed cross stitching, ceramic work and working in the garden.

Mrs. Jo Ann Self is survived by her husband, Weston Self, they were married on November 28, 1953 and would have celebrated their 64 years of marriage. Jo Ann is also survived by her son, Kevin and Carletta Self of Chatsworth, GA; daughters, Connie and Perry Fleming of Chatsworth, GA, Marion and Joe Glass of Cleveland, TN; brother, Billy and Evon Conner, daughter-in-law, Shelia Self of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Micha (Joy) Fleming, Courtney (David) Chambers, Amanda (Bobby Arp) Fleming, Jeremy (Vita) Burnette, James (Rhonda) Thomas, Shane (Alisia) Self; and thirteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jo Ann Self will be held Saturday May 20, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. from Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Jerry Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Level Community Cemetery with, Jeremy Burnette, Micah Fleming, Shane Self, James Thomas, Austin Carnes and Tyler Fleming serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel, Friday May 19, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the service hour.
