Mr. Jimmy Lamar Stanley, age 69, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Saturday January 4, 2025 at his brother's house surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Stanley was born in Jasper, Georgia, on August 7, 1955.  He was also preceded in death by his father Vernie "Bill" Stanley, mother, Hazel Timms Hardy, brother, Mark Dewayne Stanley Sr., father-in-law and mother-in-law, James and Gladys Slaughter.

He is survived by his wife, Darlene Stanley of the residence; daughter, Brandie Smith of Dalton, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Lindsey Slaughter of Rocky Face, GA, Dustin and Heather Stanley of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Steve and Becky Stanley of Jasper, GA, Ronnie and Kay Stanley of Chatsworth, GA, Billy Stanley of Jasper, GA, Greg and Angela Hardy of Atlanta, GA; sisters and brother-in-law, Lisa and Bruce Dean of Dalton, GA, Cindy Plummer, Patti Martin of Chatsworth, GA; grandchildren; Justin Slaughter, Tylor Johnson, Hunter Slaughter, Bradon Johnson, Cory Stanly, Chasidy Stanley, Michia Merez, Michael Hampton; several nieces and nephews.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jimmy Lamar Stanley will be held Wednesday January 8, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Denny Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Casey Springs Cemetery with Ryan Slaughter, Tyler Johnson, Bradon Johnson, Shawn Slaughter, Cory Stanley and Jonathan Burns serving at pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
