IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jimmy
Nichols
August 8, 1958 – June 21, 2025
Mr. Jimmy Dean Nichols
Mr. Jimmy Dean Nichols, age 66, of White, Georgia, departed this life on Saturday afternoon, June 21, 2025, at the Cartersville Center for Nursing in Cartersville, Georgia.
Born on August 8, 1958, in Cartersville, Georgia, Jimmy Dean was the beloved son of the late Charles Robert Nichols and Willie Dee King Nichols. A proud graduate of Cass High School's Class of 1976, he went on to serve the City of White with dedication and diligence for 17 years as the superintendent of the water department. Known for his strong work ethic and deep sense of responsibility, he took immense pride in his work and served faithfully until the very end of his career.
Jimmy Dean came from a close-knit and loving family. Though he lived a quiet and private life, his heart was expansive and always attuned to the needs of those around him. He was renowned for his frugality, but those who knew him well also knew his profound loyalty and generous spirit. One of his greatest joys was tending to his vegetable garden each summer. It was not just a hobby but a heartfelt labor of love. Season after season, Jimmy Dean would generously share the bounty of his garden with friends and neighbors—always giving away far more than he kept for himself. His garden stood as a living testament to his quiet generosity and the care he showed his community.
He is survived by his sisters, Carol and Bennie Stokes of Fairmount, GA, and Cathy Sanford of Rydal, GA; brothers, Donnie and Judy Nichols of Ranger, GA, Doug and Pebbles Nichols, and Dwayne Nichols, all of Rydal, GA. He also leaves behind cherished nieces and nephews: Michelle Nichols, Victoria and Kenny Nichols. His lifelong friend, Lamar Stevenson of Ellijay, GA, as well as several aunts, uncles, and many cousins, also mourn his passing.
Services to honor and celebrate the life of Mr. Jimmy Dean Nichols will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at Ponders Fairmount Chapel, with Reverend Josh James officiating. He will be laid to rest at Millers Chapel Cemetery in White, Georgia, beside his family. Honored to serve as pallbearers are his brothers, along with Eddie Billue, Lamar Stevenson, Dan Wooten, and Mark King.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Fairmount Chapel on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and again on Wednesday after 10:00 a.m. until the service hour.
Ponders Fairmount Chapel, 2566 Hwy 411, Fairmount, Georgia, is honored to serve the Nichols family. For more information, please contact us at 706-337-3784 .
