Mr. Jimmy Dewayne "Wayne" Patton, age 66, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday morning, July 28, 2017 at the local hospital. Wayne was born May 2, 1951 in Dalton, Georgia, a son of the late Charles Buford and Mary Evelyn Cochran Patton. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Donnie, Troy, Junior and Danny Patton, his father-in-law, Sam Morrison and mother-in-law, Inez Messer.

He is survived by his wife, Teresa Morrison Patton of the residence; daughter, Melissa Ann Patton of Dalton, GA; sons and daughter-in-law, James and Tabitha Patton of Chatsworth, GA, Chris and Alicia Patton of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Kelsey and Raymond Finney, Baylee Cudd, Katleen Tyler, Nicholas Patton, Walker Cudd, Jonathan Clark, Chris Patton, Jr., Caroline Clark, Emily Patton, Kaylee Patton and Gracey Pierce; great-grandchildren, Kason Finney and Ryleigh Patton; sister and her companion, Renee Chartrand and Ricky Grant of Tunnel Hill, GA; brothers, James Cochran, David Patton, Bobby Patton and Kieser Patton; sisters-in-law, Donna Patton, Mary Patton and Glenda Patton all of Dalton, GA; brother-in-law, Sammy Morrison of Chester, SC; sisters-in-law, Mickey Curtis of Dalton, GA, and Kathy Sinclair of Adams, TN; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jimmy Dewayne "Wayne" Patton will be held Sunday, July 30, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Shane Bailey and his best friend, Reverend Floyd Smith officiating. He will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens with his close family and friends serving as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends, Saturday July 29, 2017 from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and 11:00 a.m. Sunday July 30, 2017 until the service hour.
