IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jewell Lowman
Dillard
August 5, 1921 – November 4, 2016
Mrs. Jewell Lowman Dillard, age 95, of Dalton, Georgia, was ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Friday, November 4, 2016, and was reunited with her beloved husband of seventy-one years, Walter Dillard who preceded her on October 18, 2012. Jewell was born August 6, 1921 in Gilmer County, Georgia, a daughter of the late Jason and Loula Weaver Lowman. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters. Jewell loved working in her garden, and just last week was pulling up okra stalks. She loved being with and cooking for her family. Her homemade biscuits made in a dough bowl she received as a wedding gift in 1941 were a family favorite.
Jewell was a member of Dug Gap Baptist Church. She lived her life as, Proverbs, 31:25-28, 30, "Strength and dignity are her clothing and she smiles at the future. She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and bless her. Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised."
She is survived by her son, Lamar Dillard of Dalton, GA; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Melven Pulliam of Calhoun, GA, Janette and John Woolfolk of Valdosta, GA, Annelle Hindman of Dalton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Reba and John Hollinger of Grayson, GA; brother-in-law, Jim Hyden; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Dillard and Bernice Lowman all of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Steve and Jennifer Pulliam, Vicki and Anthony Quinn, Cindy and Aaron Walters, Scott Woolfolk, Pat and Tim Stephens; nine great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, several special nieces and nephews and special friend, Betty Norris.
Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jewell Lowman Dillard will be held Monday, November 7, 2016 at 3:30 p.m. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Sam Dillard officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at the Dawn Rest Cemetery in Dawnville.
The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Sunday.
