Mr. Jessie Edward Nicholson, age 86, of Dalton, GA., departed this life, Friday December 18, 2015 at his home with his family by his side. Jessie was born September 9, 1929 in Dalton, GA. He was the son of the late Jerry Austin Nicholson and Mary Williams Nicholson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Mildred Nicholson; son, Tommy Nicholson; brothers, Jerry Nicholson, James Nicholson, Carmen Nicholson, Dennis Nicholson, and Roy Nicholson; sister, Allene Lawson. Jessie was retired Navy and served in both the Korea and Vietnam conflict and retired from the U.S. Postal Service.
Mr. Jessie Edward Nicholson is survived by his wife, Roberta Nicholson; son, Ron and Connie of Jasper, GA; step-son, Jeremy and Leisel Brown of New Haven, CT; step-daughter, Angel and Cody Wood of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Cathy and Robert Woody, Kimberley and Ryan Friedman and Daniel Brown; great- grandson, Dallas Woody. Several nieces, nephews and friends.
The service to celebrate life of Mr. Jessie Edward Nicholson will be held Monday December 21, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from Pine Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Doug Maddox and Rev. Brandon Chastaine officiating. Jessie will be laid to rest at Whitfield Memorial Gardens with American Legion Post 112 performing graveside rites.
The family will receive friends Sunday December 20, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and on Monday December 21, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
