Obituary

Mr. Jesse Arthur Bell, age 78 of Crandall, Georgia, departed this life, Thursday July 15, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  Jesse was born February 13, 1943 in Tellico Plains, Tennessee, a son of the late Manie Brownlow and Mamie Lee Knightifer Bell.  He was also preceded in death by a son, Kevin Bell, his sisters and brothers-in-law, Arlene and Johnny Rose, Geraldine and Billy Tankersley, Jeanette and Jerry Mallett, and Blanchard Ghorley, brothers and sisters-in-law, Clinton and Jackie Bell, Clifford "Dugan" and Maple Bell, Joe and Inez Bell, Glenn and Reba Bell and Claude and Ruth Bell. Jesse worked in construction and was the owner of Bell's Auto Sales for many years.

He survived by is devoted wife of forty-one years, Shelby Jean Scalf Bell of the residence; daughters and son-in-law, Twana Pack of Ringgold, GA, Jessica and Dennis Dentmon, Natalie Minor all of Chatsworth, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Jesse A. Bell, Jr, David Lee Bell both of Chatsworth, GA, Cecil and Pansy Bell of Kokomo, IN, Michael T. and Jennifer Johns of Rocky Face, GA, Kacey and Rachael Johns of Tunnel Hill, GA, Dustin and Daniella Bell of Dalton, GA, and Mary Bell of Kokomo, IN; sisters and brother-in-law, Geneva Philpot of South Bend, IN, Erma Lee Ghorley of Maryville, TN; brother and sister-in-law, Clyde and Betty Bell of Kokomo, IN; twenty grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren; special friends, Craig and Anna Glover of Chatsworth, GA, and Jason and Jamie Parker of Crandall, GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jesse Arthur Bell will be held Sunday, July 18, 2021 at Ponders Melrose Chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jesse W. Hughes and Reverend Jason Dyer officiating.  He will be laid to rest at West Hill Cemetery with Steve Griffin, Paul Saylor, Fernando Mendez, Justin Saylor, Jaylon Pratt and Kaylon Hughes honored to serve as pallbearers.  Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Pratt and Bobby Cartledge.

The family will receive friends at Ponders Melrose Chapel from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Saturday and after 10:00 a.m. Sunday until the service hour.
