Mr. Jerry Wayne Thompson, age 75, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Friday, July 30, 2021, at Hamilton Medical Center. Mr. Thompson was born October 24, 1945 in Chattooga, Georgia, the son of the late, Wimber Odell Thompson and Ruby Mae Reed Thompson. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Carlton Thompson; grandparents, Reverend Gus and Emma Reed and Jim and Maggie Thompson; the mother of his children, Glenda Hutchins; brother- in- laws, Jimmy Nation and Kenneth "Pete" Crider.

Mr. Thompson is survived by his children; Wayne Hutchins of Rome, Georgia, James Hutchins of Gainesville, Florida, Johnny Thompson of Chatsworth, Georgia, Christine Tolbert of Rome; Brothers, Bud and Debbie Thompson of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, Buster and Jeanine Thompson of Jefferson, Louisiana, and Pete Thompson of Jefferson, Louisiana; sisters, Shelia and Buddy Chastain of Cohutta, Georgia, Carol Nation of Chatsworth, Georgia, Ruby Jones of Calhoun, Georgia, Amy and Bobby Philips of Rocky Face, Georgia; several grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Graveside service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jerry Wayne Thompson will be Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at United Memorial Gardens in Dalton, Georgia with Caldwell Canada officiating. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 112.
