Mr. Jerry David "Pete" Shoemaker 72 of Chatsworth departed this life Monday December 3, 2018 at the Pruitt Health Care of Lafayette surrounded by his loving family. Pete was born December 23, 1945 in Dalton, GA, a son of the late Jack and Bessie Defore Shoemaker. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Riley "Bud" Shoemaker, sisters and brothers-in-law, Louise and Charles Arrington, Betty and Ralph Scott, Bobby Williams, Melvis Lybrand, step son James Silvers.

He is survived by his wife, Janice Shoemaker of the residence; stepsons and daughter-in-law, Rocky Silvers, Jason and Melissa Silvers, Jeremy Silvers; grandson, Kaden Silvers; all of Chatsworth, GA; sisters, Edna "Sis" Williams of Calhoun, GA, Sally Lybrand of Dalton, GA; sister-in-law, Nellie Shoemaker of Chatsworth, GA;  several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law.

Service to celebrate the life of Mr. Jerry David "Pete" Shoemaker will be held Friday December 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend David Nix officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
