Jerome Reece Thompson, age 91, of Dalton, Georgia, departed this life Thursday, May 5, 2016 at the Quinton Memorial surrounded by his loving family. Jerome was born June 31, 1925 in Tenn. He was the son of the late . He was predeceased by his wife Janie Elizabeth Tate Thompson and step Daughter in law Wanda Fisher. Jerome love his pets and was a great gardener.

He is survived by his step-daughters and sons in law; Marie and Jerry Marlow of Ellijay, GA, Sandra and Lamar Palton of Resaca, GA, step-sons and daughter in law; Richard Fisher of Dalton, GA and Steven and Regina Fisher of Fla. He had 9 step-grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Services to celebrate the life of Jerome Thompson will be held Saturday May 7, 2016 at The Melrose Chapel of Ponders Funeral home at 2:00 PM with Pastor Alfred Freeman and Pastor Joey Henderson officiating. He will be laid to rest at United Memorial Gardens with family and friends serving as pall bearers. The family will receive friends Friday may 6, 2016 from 5:00pm to 9:00 pm at the funeral home.
