Mrs. Jennie Pauline "Polly" Farmer, age 86, of Rocky Face, Georgia, departed this life Saturday, January 11, 2014 at the local hospital. Polly was born April 5, 1927 in Murray County, Georgia, daughter of the late Thomas Leland and Azzie Holden Edwards. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wayne "Bob" Farmer and a daughter, Pamela Ruth Farmer. Polly was a 1944 graduate of Valley Point High School. She was a devoted housewife and mother. She loved Hank Williams, Sr. and at one time was the President of the local Hank Williams, Sr. Fan Club. She was also a member of the Drewery R. Smith Chapter of the Daughter's of the Confederacy.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Andrea Farmer; daughter, Barbara Byers all of Rocky Face, GA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Barbara and Tom Lightfoot of Stone Mt., GA; several nieces and nephews.

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Jennie Pauline "Polly" Farmer will be held Wednesday January 15, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at Ponders Melrose Chapel with Pastor Phillip Cannon officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband in the Poplar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning until the service hour.
