Mr. Jeffrey Thomas Gibbs, Sr., age 61, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, departed this life Saturday evening, May 18, 2024, at Hospice of Chattanooga.

Jeffrey was born April 27, 1963, at Fort Monmouth in Oceanport, New Jersey. Jeffrey was a 1981 graduate of Tyner High School and graduated from Chattanooga State Technical Community College in 1995. He was a programmer at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee for thirty-six years and loved fishing, hunting, and he loved the Lord, Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Jennifer Bryant and his grandparents, Reuben and Annie Mae Jones and Clemie Gibbs, aunts, Camilia Nance and Leana Porter.

He is survived by his wife, Lou Macon Gibbs, and would have celebrated their thirty-second wedding anniversary, May 23, 2024; his mother, Ruby Mae Jones Gibbs; father, Thomas Arthur Gibbs; sons, Daniel Macon and Jeffrey Gibbs, II; granddaughter, Mila Hammonds; brother-in-law Michael Bryant all of Chattanooga, TN; a host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services to celebrate the life of Mr. Jeffrey Thomas Gibbs, Sr, will be held Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery with Pastor Tony Walliser (Silverdale Baptist Church) officiating.

The family will gather at 12:00 noon Tuesday, May 28, 2024, at Ponders Brainerd Chapel (4203 Brainerd Rd, Chattanooga, TN) to prepare to depart for the cemetery.

He will be laid to rest at Beautiful Greenwood Cemetery.
