Jefferson Paul
Luckett
February 27, 1966 – October 10, 2020
Jefferson Paul Luckett, 54, of Calhoun, GA passed away on October 10, 2020 at his residence. He was formally from Baton Rouge, LA. Where he was employed with Gerry Lane GMC.
Memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be at the Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church.
Paul was born in Atlanta, Ga to Rev. James and Betty Luckett on February 27, 1966. He was a graduate of Southeast High School. Paul was employed with Gerry Lane GMC while living in Baton Rouge, LA. He worked in the carpet mills before moving to Mississippi. Paul enjoyed singing praises to his Lord and Savior. Singing at many funerals, homecomings, revivals, and regular services. Would never say no to doing a song. His signature song was Sweet Beulah Land, but he said it was I Sing Because. When asked why because I've had to sing at sad times, happy times, when my heart was not able but I always sang. He loved going to see Southern Gospel Groups perform. His most treasured memory is when he did a talent show in Florida with the Florida Boys and The Dixie Echoes.
Paul is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and aunts and uncles.
Paul is survived by his wife, Martha Price Luckett, brothers, Jim Luckett (Nancy), Mark Luckett and sister Terri Thompson (J.T.). Host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorials may be given to Forest Grove Methodist Protestant Church. The family would like to extend our appreciation to all the doctors and nurses in Baton Rouge, La and Calhoun, Ga that took good care of him during his sickness.
Due to the National health crisis and the Covid-19 virus, masks must be worn properly at all times and social distancing must be observed when visiting the funeral home.
